Design Plus Gallery presents Castrois, No. 792, 1979. The figural study was created using bleach on stretched Serge de Nimes. The word “denim” originates from serge de Nîmes, a sturdy fabric first made in the city of Nîmes (de Nîmes = from Nîmes) France. Signed in bleach by artist, lower right. Slim dark wood frame. Little evidence of wear; consistent with age and use.
