Design Plus Gallery presents a “Valley of the River Beck” by Carl Valente for Manifestations, Inc. Carl Valente is known for his landscape and cottage art, often featuring tranquil scenes with natural elements. This “Magic Effects” depicts an English countryside scene with a cottage, flowers, and a bridge over a river. It has been framed in a bronze double frame with a parchment tone in between the gilded wood. The print has been discontinued from its run with the manufacturer. “First we do a drawing of our design in fullest detail with pen and India ink. From this drawing we make a plate which, impressed upon a metallic surface, produces varied depths that convey an iridescent effect and the illusion of move-ment. Finally, we mount the work in ways that we have learned serve best to initiate the magic of change. These changes, created by the absorption of light, vary in nature all day with the natural course of each day’s changing light, however subtle the changes.
Indeed, the more subtle the lighting the nicer the effect, which will always be enhanced if the work is displayed just below eye level. Colored lights, firelight, and candle light wili also have a magical effect on your work of art.
