Design Plus Gallery presents a Pair of No.156 Arm Chairs from Borge Mogensen. This pair of sensational mid 20th century chairs are as organically modern now as when they were crafted. They are created in what is referred to as pegged construction where wooden pegs are used to reinforce the joint by inserting them through the tenon and mortise, thereby adding additional strength and stability to the joint. The seat of the chair is wrapped in rush, offering a bounce to the seat that is natural and enduring. We love that their shallow arms allow them to pull up close to the table. Wear is consistent with vintage age and use with several cords have started to loosen on one seat.
