Bensen Torii Dining Chairs, Set of Eight. Original Price: $5,480

Design Plus Gallery presents a set of 8 Torrii Dining Chairs, by Bensen. Simple construction and sophisticated black-stained ash, the chairs has a distinct style represented by its closely spaced back legs, broad seat, and small arched backrest. The set has custom upholstered padded seats in pistachio and teal woven fabric. Evidence of fading and soil on several cushions; as shown; otherwise good condition.

“Torii is the Japanese name for the characteristic wood entrance arches to Shinto shrines in Japan, and translates directly into English as “bird perch”. This motif perfectly describes the chairs distinct proportions and traditional joinery, and the sense of harmony and calm inherent in design that is beautifully resolved.” Niels Bendtsen, designer.
