Design Plus Gallery presents a Vintage Asian Four-Panel Folding Screen. The black lacquered wood panels depict robed court figures surrounded by pine, banana, bamboo, and flowering plum trees. Carved soapstone and bone elements create raised figures, garments, foliage, and architectural details, while mother-of-pearl inlay forms repeating geometric borders and floral accents. Gold-tone linework continues throughout the landscape scenes and panel frames. The reverse side displays birds, bamboo, chrysanthemums, and flowering branches outlined against the black lacquered surface. Hinged construction allows the four panels to fold together. It is in good condition; visible wear, scratches, and surface marks from age and usage.
