Design Plus Gallery presents a pair of Asian Antique Ming Su-style Arm Chairs. Su-style is known for its lightness, simple elegance, smooth lines and moderate proportions. Made from precious hardwoods and material these particular chairs consist of a bamboo weaved seat and Chestnut stained Beech wood frame. Hand crafted with careful attention. This attention differs from other styles which have excessive carvings and decorations. Back is decorated with relief carvings. Arch on top is connected to the arms with spandrel carvings consisting of botanical motifs. Cushions added to protect seat. Visible wear on surfaces due to age. bamboo seat in tact. Lower seat height originally meant for rituals involving meditation.
