Design Plus Gallery presents a Pair of Antique Horseshoe Ming Arm Chairs. This pair of large antique Chinesehorseshoe round back armchairs/Quanyi (圈椅), made after “simple and elegant” Ming-style furniture.Their legs are connected with all-around stretchers arranged in “step-by-step” pattern symbolizing promotion or prosperity.The three-piece Kunmen-style apron set under the front of the seat,the S-shaped back splat finely carved with motifs. The best part is that both chairs were made without the use of metal or screws in its joinery. The seat cushions are removable and upholstered in a pumpkin chenille fabric. They are in good antique condition with minimal visible wear for their usage.
