Quite an innovation, this metal clad/wood strapped curved top not only offered a little more storage space, it meant it had to be placed on the top of the stack, reducing the likelihood of damage. Lining the trunk and “drawers” is period paper and fashion illustrations. Stamped brass decorate fittings and hasps. Charming.
