Design Plus Gallery presents a Scenographia Systematis Copernicani reverse reproduction print by Andrea Cellarius. A time when stargazers and philosophers were captivated by the celestial bodies. A star atlas, Harmonia Macrocosmica, was published in 1660 as a grand vision of the universe as it was understood at the time. This is a print of one of the bookplates from that tome. The illustrations are rich in allegorical and mythological symbolism, a feast for the eyes and the mind. Matted and protected under glass. Paper backing on rear is torn as shown; otherwise good condition.
