Design Plus Gallery has a custom live Edge Trestle Dining Table by Akroyd Furniture. With a reverential nod to the the seminal Mid-Century work of George Nakashima, this table allows the natural organic origins of the tree to make a bold statement. The undulating lengthwise edges have their bark removed and the undulating “cambium” layer polished smooth. A structural steel braces into the underside of the wood top. It allows the top to seasonally expand plus contract yet keeps it flat. Akroyd Furniture does not cut down trees nor saw logs. The wood is a black walnut. The steel base is in brushed industrial finish. Made in Toronto, Canada.
