Design Plus Gallery presents an Indo Bakhtiari Rugs that is 7ft 8in x 11ft. These rugs are known for being the brightest and most colorful of all nomadic rugs. They are hand woven by one of the oldest and most well-known Persian tribes. Formerly nomadic by nature, around the 19th century the Bakhtiari tribe settled in the Zagros region, southwest of Isfahan. Persian Chahar Mahal area village carpet shows a six by eight “garden” windowpane panel design with mihrabs, weeping willows, flowering vases, twinned feathery fronds and blossoming stems, with grounds of cream, navy, rust-red, green and medium blue. Red border with Memling Gul medallion design. Some noticable areas of use are that there is some binding and damage to the fringe with areas of wear that would benefit from a thorough cleaning. Restorative measures are suggested. Visible and minimal wear.
