Design Plus Gallery presents the Cyclone Table designed by Isamu Noguchi for Knoll in 1957. This iconic mid-century modern design highlights Noguchi’s sculptural approach to furniture, combining industrial materials with geometric precision. The table features a round white laminate top with an exposed layered plywood edge that reveals the construction of the material. Beneath the top, a welded steel rod pedestal forms the signature “cyclone” structure, composed of interlacing chrome-plated rods that converge into a circular cast iron base. The open lattice base creates a dynamic visual rhythm while maintaining structural integrity and balance. Originally introduced as part of Noguchi’s exploration of functional sculpture, the Cyclone Table remains a defining example of his ability to merge art and design into a single form. Does not have brand label. It is in good condition, visible and minimal wear from usage.
