3ft 2in X 5ft 1in Antique Chinese Art Deco Wool Area Rug
SOLD!
Design Plus Gallery presents a 3ft 2in x 5ft 1in Dark Blue Art Deco Area Rug from Early 20th Century China. This Chinese rug style leans into its gem-toned colors and defined borders with a repeating nature-inspired central motif. It reflects on popular 1920’s-1940’s aesthetics with balanced asymmetry, simpler patterns, geometric elements, and fewer and lower-contrast colors. It is of Peking and/or Khotan rugs — perhaps what comes to mind when you hear “oriental rug” — exhibit floral and mythological themes. The rug has tones of sea blue with rose, teal, amber and other jewel tones making up its florals. The wool rug is in good condition with minimal signs of wear for its age + use.
