The rug has a profusion of jewel-tone colors to brings a vibrant, almost tropical character to the turn-of-the-century Persian carpet in coveted Ziegler style. The unusually fine weave + closely shorn pile lend crystal clarity to the large proportioned design. An abundance of delightful hues, including glowing golds, salmon, copper, vermillion, and apricot support its entirely singular grand navy medallion, given tremendous visual depth by skilled abrash (intentional color striation). Wide ivory corner pieces contribute stately outlines and botanical forms. The rug is in superb condition with recent professional cleaning from the best in the Bay Area.
