In a grand chateau of 18th-century France, the porter, stationed by the entrance to admit visitors, would have sat in a chair much like this. It was designed to shelter attendants or keep household occupants warm from drafts. It features a dramatic, high domed or hooded back, side wings, an exposed carved wood frame, and classic cabriole legs. It is crafted with a weathered oak wood frame and paired with Belgian linen. This style is no longer in production with the brand and is in good overall condition for its usage.
