This rug is a highly durable, hand-knotted Persian piece that is woven in and around the village of Saruk in Iran’s Markazi Province. Celebrated for their dense wool pile and rich colors, these rugs are iconic for their graceful, naturalistic, all-over floral motifs and sweeping vine designs and botanical elements. This rug was hand made in the 1930’s and has gorgeous colors that have held up throughout its near antique age with a yellow center and a border of pinks, red and blues. It is in good condition for its usage with wear that is consistent with age.
