The table has a 78-inch oval marble top with cream, gray, and rose-toned veining over a white metal pedestal base. Architect Eero Saarinen was known for expressive sculptural forms, including the TWA Terminal at New York’s JFK Airport, the Gateway Arch in St. Louis, and the Pedestal Table from 1956. Saarinen designed the Pedestal Table to “clear up the slum of legs in the U.S. home,” replacing traditional table legs with a graceful cast-aluminum base. This authentic Knoll Saarinen Table is stamped with the KnollStudio logo and Eero Saarinen’s signature. It is in good condition; visible and minimal scratches on the surface from usage. Made in USA.
