Design Plus Gallery presents “Thinking Man” a small bronze sculpture by Theodore Gall. The lost wax sculptures displayed on a solid wood pedestal. The cast head you see on many of Ted’s sculptures was a likeness of Lewis Weinberg, former CEO of gasket manufacturing company called Fel-Pro outside of Chicago. Ted was a promising sculpture student at the Chicago Art Institute when Mr. Weinberg contacted the Institute to inquire if they could recommend one of their students for an artist in residence program. Ted was recommended and that started over 3+ decades of creative collaborations in private and public art programs through the artist in residence program established by Mr. Weinberg. Wood base is “etched” with Happy Birthday Lew. Overall good condition.

“I intend for my sculpture to be intriguing, both visually and psychologically, to draw your imagination into the pieces themselves, allowing you to come to your own conclusions.””Theodore T. Gall began his career in the arts in the mid-sixties as an animator for teaching films and continued to broaden his skills as a graphic designer. Gall has worked in metal since his early days as an artist. Although his work has not been limited to the human form, it has been his primary focus throughout his career. His compelling figures are most often placed in thought-provoking situations. Gall’s work is lost wax cast into bronze, aluminum or stainless steel or welded Cor-ten steel. Most of his sculptures are comprised of many separate components that are assembled in either the wax or metal stage.”
