Davis is a jacquard fabric inspired by Oriental motifs. Its design draws on a particular Japanese kimono dated approximately to 1925, made of black satin embroiders in silver. The pattern displays a sort of large-size chevron, broken by elegant spiral motifs of Japanese origin. The background, too, features tiny chevrons laid out vertically. The result is a “pattern in the pattern”, a currently popular graphic suggestion in the decoration of textiles.”
