Design Plus Gallery presents a Queen John Kelly J1 Series J-18 Spindle Cherry Bed Frame. The J1 Series Collection was designed in 1992. The objective was to reduce each furnishing to three basic design elements: frame; container; and surface. By exposing structural forms an architectural open and natural marriage is formed with the warm cherry wood. All spindles are octagonal and are pegged on their ends with walnut. Three coats of matte lacquer and one coat of finishing wax gives a sturdy, non-toxic result. Layering of finishes allows the wood to develop a natural patina over time through exposure to air and sunlight.
