Design Plus Gallery presents a Pair of Mid 20th Century Table Lamps by Heifetz. Beautifully sculptural bases are kidney shaped with a small negative space in the forms. The glaze is a variety of green earth tones. The original sticker is located at the cord. Based in New York, the firm created 4,000 pieces in a 25 year run. Yasha Heifetz’s success was in part influenced by Marcel Breuer’s 1949 exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York where Marcel claimed lighting was purely functional and included no table lamps. These vintage bases have been customized and modernized with dual light sockets and independent control with drop chains. One of the lamps hardware is loose and requires tightening, otherwise the lamps are in good condition. White ivory linen barrel shades complete the organic modern look.
