Design Plus Gallery presents a Side Table of Macassar Ebony with Smoked Glass. The tabletop is has a naturally occurring stripe pattern work that Macassar ebony is known for. Macassar ebony is exceptionally expensive due to its extreme rarity, slow growth (taking over 60–200 years to mature), and high demand for its dramatic striped appearance in luxury goods. Native to Southeast Asia, it is listed as vulnerable, and its limited habitat, combined with difficult harvesting, makes supply extremely scarce. It comes with a thick piece of tempered glass to protect the wood. There is a lower shelf made of smoked glass and is inset to the metal frame. The side table is in good overall condition for its usage.
