“The emotional involvement is followed by a meditative detachment which also transforms the manual skills of the painter who is the first to witness the making of the work as if it were realized by his own strength. The artist’s explicit intervention is reduced to a few essential signs, of a geometric order, which by incident for emergence imprint characteristics of Rupture or in any case of fracture and detachment, real interruptions that enhance the surfaces even more. Giuseppe Santomaso died in Venice in May 1990. “
