Design Plus Gallery presents ‘Iris: Hense Away’ a signed Lithograph by Gary Bukovnic. A colorful and joyous floral watercolor painted in 2006. Loose yourself in a multi-color explosion of purple iris, red ribbon and green stems. The flower filled vases appear to be tumbling, caught in flight, which is one of Bukovnik’s favorite compositions. The watercolor image floats over neutral background. Bukovnik’s art conveys a monumental quality. Primarily using the mediums of watercolor, monotype, and lithograph, Bukovnik fuses sensual vitality with fluid yet powerful colorations, creating floral images of great depth and intensity. The original watercolor, a colorful and joyous floral painting created in 2006 hung at Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco for decades where it delighted an endless stream of visitors.

About Artist:
Gary Bukovnic American Artist: b. 1947. Gary Bukovnik was born in Cleveland Ohio and was educated at the Cleveland Institute of Art. In 1974, Gary moved to San Francisco where he has been active in community and civic organizations. Bukovnik’s work is on the posters for the San Francisco Symphony and the Atlanta Symphony. Bukovnik is a painter of flowers. Bukovnik works primarily in watercolors creating magnified images of meticulous precision. In contrast to the watercolor medium, Bukovnik has also mastered the monotype. Bukovnik works on both simultaneously each one influencing and strenghtening the other. Bukovnik never uses photographs, prefering to compose the drawing directly on several sheets of paper from live models. His work is in the permanent collections of major museums and corporations in the United States, including the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; the Art Institute, Chicago; the Museum of Fine Arts Boston; the Metropolitan Museum in New York; AT and T and Neiman-Marcus and Time, Inc.
