“Making her way each day from her sailboat home to her land-based studio, Sheila Finch takes note of the glorious panorama of sky, water and wetlands of the San Francisco Bay Area that serves as her backyard. “I am humbled each day by this beauty and grace, inspired to create timeless connections to the natural world.” she notes. Reared by her artist mother, she was taught the basics of studio painting at a young age. Finch works adeptly in both oll and acrylic, choosing the latter for layering luminous veils of color and oil for deeply blended compositions.
