Design Plus Gallery presents “Ladi Apples” from 2001 by Stanley Bielen. The still life is created with the use of oil paint on paper. It has an interesting blurred effect with three green apples shown stacking out of a white bowl. It comes with an off white matte and silver frame, also signed by the artist with information on the piece on the backside. It shows some visible wear that is consistent with usage.
About the Artist :
compositions. Born in 1957 in Rzeszów, Poland, he immigrated to the United States and studied painting at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts from 1976 to 1980 . His work is deeply influenced by the Philadelphia School’s realist tradition. Bielen’s paintings are characterized by thick, gestural brushstrokes and a focus on color and light, often depicting intimate arrangements of flowers and fruit. He draws inspiration from European still life traditions, echoing the works of artists like Édouard Manet and Pierre-Auguste Renoir . Rather than striving for photographic realism, Bielen aims to capture the fleeting beauty of his subjects through abstracted forms and rich textures.
