Design Plus Gallery presents “Sausalito” an original Watercolor Painting by the Artist in 1941. Elsie Lower Pomeroy (1882–1971) was an artist most closely associated with the American Scene Painting movement and specifically California Regionalism or California Scene Painting. Known for her landscapes this one has a pair of boats rocking in the tide. A older make of boat is contrasted with a more contemporary ferry boat, both regular sightings in Sausalito. The watercolor scene is professionally matted, framed in simple wood and protected by glass. Light surface wear; condition is good.
