Antique Adams-Style Vanity/Writing Desk

Design Plus Gallery presents a Mahogany Desk from the Early 20th Century with Inlaid Burl Wood Design. The Adams Style was popular in the 18th Century and revived in the early 20th Century. It is characterized by Neoclassical motifs, delicate details, and balanced proportions. The floral designs are striking and created by using differed wood pieces, precisely cut, to arrange into a decorative art piece. Albeit pretty, the desk also is a highly functioning piece that was constructed for use as a vanity. Below the extraordinary solid wood surface with incredible wood grain are three drawers. A narrow center drawer and two drawers flanking either side. On the left side there is a cupboard door that opens to reveal an inner shelf splitting the cavity in half. The right side offers three additional drawers. The entire desk in good condition with visible distress and minimal wear for its antique age + use. Comes with 2 keys.
