Design Plus Gallery presents a Custom Design Johann Cabinet Chair produced by C. Mariani Antique’s of San Francisco by Historian + Designer Andrew Horn. The prototypes were created with the appeal to give credit and nod to the formidable Vienna Secession Movement of the late 19th Century. The Cabinet Chair follows through with the decorative style of curvilinear, organic ornamental designs, as the Secessionist’s embraced geometry and abstraction in their art + architecture. All of Johann’s sides are cut from the same size Oak Wood Square with reticulating inlays of squares in a parquet pattern within, holding a brass square plate in the center. Completely upholstered in a creamy leather, with leather trimmed nailheads at every meeting point. The chair is in good condition, minor wear with a singular missing leather nailhead. Made in California, USA.
