Design Plus Gallery presents a 4ft × 7ft5in Vintage Glaoui Tribe Area Rug. Originating in the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco, c. 1950. Berber woven symbols represent the only written language of the Glaoui people whose origin remains a mystery, replaced by Arabic language 100% hand loomed and hand spun, sheep and goat wool, naturally dyed. The skip plain weave and chords knotting shows the unusual use of both flat and pile weave, used by the Glaobi tribeswomen. A one of a kind piece of art. Vintage condition is good for age and use.
