“Marc Kompaneyets is a Los Angeles based fine artist and writer/illustrator. Born in Moscow, USSR, he studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts before receiving his B.F.A from the University of Pennsylvania….

His fine art work, informed by his classical training and inspired by the European masters, spans a wide range of subject matter, from the purely observational to the psychological and the surreal. His most recent series of works are paintings based on Hans Christian Anderson’s story The Shadow. His portraits, landscapes and figurative compositions are in many private collections.

Marc is an adjunct professor at Santa Monica College, a senior lecturer at Otis College of Art and Design, and a teaching artist at Ryman Arts, a non-profit organization that provides free classes in drawing and painting to gifted high-school students. “
