Design Plus Gallery has been invited to design the stage setting for the upcoming World Affairs Council Gala at the Four Seasons-San Francisco, October 23rd. We are honored to participate in celebrating the peer-to-peer economy here in the U.S. and abroad.
The World Affairs Council and its Global Philanthropy Forum will recognize eBay and PayPal CEO John Donahoe, and the company he leads, for its commitment to creating economic opportunity and fostering an inclusive global economy, including its pioneering role in creating the peer-to-peer economy. The evening will celebrate and gather entrepreneurs and innovators who are further advancing this movement worldwide.

What could be more perfect than Design Plus Gallery at a “marketplace for sustainable design”? We are a model of green business that defies assumptions about pre-owned furniture and eco-friendly ideals. Come and join the Design Plus Gallery team and the Yelp team for info and refreshments at the Urban Air Market in the Lower Haight on Saturday October 11, 11am -6pm. We will have beautiful furniture and accessories representing the unique assortments available at our San Francisco and San Rafael showrooms.
For their final show of the season, Urban Air Market will be celebrating their tenth birthday with a block party of art, fashion and music on Haight Street (between Fillmore and Pierce). This FREE outdoor event will feature 100+ emerging designers, established brands, and talented local artists, as well as an underground dance party with beats by your favorite local bands, producers, and DJs. In addition to providing a unique, high quality shopping experience that gives attendees the opportunity to meet the designers and artisans behind the making of their favorite goods, guests of Urban Air Market can Chillax in the YELP ‘living room’ decked out with comfy sustainable furniture by Design Plus Gallery, and get a special offer when you check-in to the event on the Yelp App!
URBAN AIR MARKET is a curated marketplace for sustainable design featuring independent designers of men’s, women’s, and kid’s clothing, accessories, jewelry and home décor. Participating designers are selected based on their quality, originality, cleverness, and method of sustainability in design. Urban Air Market offers consumers the ability to discover emerging designers while supporting their local economy.

For 2014, the six chapters participating in IFDA’s Take a Seat™ event have created an initiative called Helping Heroes at Home. When the comforts of home are one’s business, it seems only natural to help those, who protect and give us the freedom, to live safely in their homes. Together we are donating talent, time and this unique chairs in an effort to raise funds for the Wheelchair Foundation, who support our local veterans and their families. Design Plus Gallery is excited to create two “upcycled” chairs and on one to collaborate with Healing Henna, who like Design Plus is a Yelp favorite. Body artist Robyn Jean is of like mind and spirit and proud to be “helping heroes at home”.
Design Plus Gallery customers are invited to participate and support Take a Seat™. There will be a free exhibition at the San Francisco Design Center Galleria, October 1st through October 15. On October 16, IFDA will conduct an auction at the Janus et Cie showroom, 2 Henry Adams Street, Suite 195. Through the generosity of the event Patrons, our IFDA chapter will contribute the proceeds to the Wheelchair Foundation.

Design Plus Consignment Gallery has the pleasure of hosting a joint networking event for the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce and the Golden Gate Business Association on August 12, 2014. We invite you to attend and meet the people behind our city’s vibrant industries, to learn about the available resources, and to meet potential new clients. We are expecting over 200 business owners, CEO’s and decision makers for all manner and size of companies. Design Plus is a proud member of the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce and GGBA. Join our innovative fashion ladies of the San Francisco area and find out how they’ve managed to sell their designs through pop-ups, fashion truck, online and many other ways. Exciting evening of mingling, friendship, networking, a fashion show, and an informative speaker panel with a special presentation by Macy’s Executive Incubator Director Jeanne Allen. During the event enjoy snacks by Bi-Rite Market, Organic teas by Flourishing Oasis and Fine wines provided by Barefoot Wine.

Design Plus Consignment Gallery will participate in the Earth Day San Francisco 2014.
On April 19th, up to 10,000 people from the San Francisco Bay Area, and beyond, will converge at U.N. Plaza/ Civic Center to celebrate Earth Day San Francisco 2014. It is the LARGEST and FREE EARTH DAY event in Northern California that will feature three stages of Multi-Cultural Music and Performance, Renowned Speakers, Interactive Workshops, Green-Economy and Businesses and so much more.

What is the Positive Health Program?
From the first reports of the HIV/AIDS epidemic, the UCSF Positive Health Program (PHP) at San Francisco General Hospital has led the world in defining best practices of clinical care in HIV/AIDS medicine. The staff’s motto is to always focus first on patient wellbeing and to work towards a collective mission – “to explore, learn, teach, heal and comfort.” The PHP treatment model includes an emphasis on outpatient primary and specialty HIV care, rapid availability of routine and urgent care to the patient, psychosocial support through a spectrum of services, integration of patient care with clinical research, and ongoing education for patients, providers and the local community.
